Internal Medicine consultation
Internal Medicine is dedicated to the medical (non-surgical) treatment of adult patients, focusing its approach on assessing difficult-to-diagnose situations and understanding the patient as a whole, analyzing the interactions between the various organs and systems.
It is a generalist specialty and predominantly hospital-based.
Given its comprehensive training, Internal Medicine consultations are dedicated not only to prevention, but also to the diagnosis and treatment of critical situations, diseases affecting several organs or systems, complex diseases, multiple diseases, as well as people with rare diseases or difficult clinical conditions, as yet undiagnosed.
